Your donations make a difference in the lives of many people in need around Leicester! With your support families are fed and clothed, houses are transformed into homes, individuals are equipped with skills, and hope is invested in and through people.

There are a number of different ways that you can financially support this work and help us to keep our lights on and doors open, all equally valued! Read through the options below for information about financial donations, you can also find lists of the physical donations that we need here.

Direct Transfer, Standing Order or Cheque

One of the most effective ways is to give is to make a direct donation which ensures 100% of your donation is invested into our work in the community. You can make a bank transfer using the following details:

Please email admin@openhandsleicester.org.uk to let us know that you have made a donation through bank transfer/transfer – your contact details are not passed on by the bank and we would love to thank you and keep you updated with the difference your donation is making in the lives of our guests!

If donating by cheque is your preferred way of donating, please make cheques payable to ‘Open Hands Trust’ and send to: Open Hands, c/o One Church, One Centre, 10 Frog Island, Leicester LE3 5AG

To make your donation go even further please help us by completing our online gift aid declaration form if you are a tax payer – this allows us to claim back from the government on your behalf 25p for every £1 donated, boosting the value of your donation by a quarter!

Payroll Giving

Payroll Giving (also known as Give As You Earn) is one of the most tax-efficient ways to set up a monthly donation to Open Hands. Because donations are deducted before tax a donation of £10 would only cost you £8 out of your regular paycheck (usually the additional £2 would be paid in tax)!

To sign up ask your employer if they have a Payroll Giving Scheme in place, choose your regular donation amount, and direct it to Open Hands Trust (Leicester). If your employer doesn’t have a scheme in place, email admin@openhandsleicester.org.uk and we can provide more information – providing this service is also a great addition to your company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme!

Remember Us in Your Will

Did you know that you can leave a gift for Open Hands in your Will? This could be a fixed donation, or a percentage of your estate – the minimum is as little as 1%, so the remaining 99% can go to those closest to you.

Remembering us in your Will will make an investment in the future of hundreds of people in need in Leicester; to do so please speak to your Solicitor when making or amending your will and share our Registered Name and Charity Number:
